Bombshell: Rogue Diplomat, Ebrima JT Kujabie Sacked, Flees Gambia

Bombshell

President Jammeh sacks rogue diplomat, Ebrima J.T. Kujabi

--Damning Allegations of Corruption Linger as Kujabi flees Banjul

By Ebrima G. Sankareh, Editor-In-Chief

As President Yahya Jammeh’s madness reaches fever pitch, not even his so-called errant boys like the rogue diplomat, Ebrima JT Kujabie, are spared from his wrath. Today, The Gambia Echo has received information from highly placed sources at the President’s office, that, Ebrima J.T Kujabi, whose unbridled arrogance has recently been the subject of numerous acerbic Echo editorials, has been axed.

Ebrima JT Kujabi sacked

Reveals Njie Khakatarr, two weeks ago, JT was invited for consultations in Banjul and no sooner had he arrived than he was sacked and as frantic efforts were underfoot by his god-father, Ousman Jammeh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to seek Jammeh’s forgiveness, the whole family connection edifice came crashing as accomplices like IGP Ensa Jesus Badjie, Bun Sanneh and colleagues were sacked and whisked away to the Mile II Prisons. According to our sources, when the sacking and arrests of senior public servants intensified last week, followed by President Jammeh’s anti-corruption rhetoric, JT was advised by a senior government official to flee Gambia lest he too be taken to Mile II Prisons. According to family sources that begged strictest confidentiality, JT has been crying like a little cat since he fled Gambia.

According to Khakatarr, Kujabi is accused interalia, of impersonating President Jammeh before Kombo North village chief, Eric Tunde Janneh, in a massive real estate deal. Reveals Khakatarr, it is alleged that while in Banjul sometimes last year, Kujabi and sacked Inspector General of Police, Ensa Badjie, traveled to Banjulding village where they lied to the village chief that Kebba (one of Yahya Jammeh’s several aliases) wanted real estate for horticultural services. “The duo” says Khakatarr, “described by many political observers as terrible twins of evil, succeeded when the village head demarcated an elaborate piece of land for President Jammeh which, they in turn diverted to their personal use”.

Our NIA operative Waato Seeta reveals that the month preceding JT’s ominous consultations in Banjul, the Gambian President had sought clarification about the land deal and wanted to know precisely when he instructed the Inspector General of Police and the errant diplomat to procure him land under false pretense. Jammeh, says Seeta, had threatened to deal with any culprits according to law and it is now all too apparent that Kujabi’s disgraceful sacking has to do with allegations of corruption, impersonation and damn lies.

Kujabi, a temperamental wife batterer, irredeemably corrupt, mentally deficient and characteristically mendacious mediocre has since fled Banjul en route to Washington, DC, where for the past three years, he had made life very rough for many diplomats using his proximity to President Jammeh to routinely elbow enemies, real or perceived.

Ever since coming to the fateful Gambian Consulate three years ago as Director of Information & Cultural Affairs; a pathetic misnomer created for the simpleton, Kujabi has been at the center of presidential gravity, always dressed in distasteful diplomatic garbs with a false bravado that only rivals Colonel Kawsu Camara, Jammeh’s chief murderer, now consigned to Mile II Prisons. Like Camara, (a.k.a Bombardier), JT Kujabi was equally vicious and the damage he has done to Gambia’s reputation is enormous and today, like most functionaries before him, he too has ran afoul of the dictator and his lonely impunity from Jammeh’s justice seems to be distance.

For now though, it remains to be seen how he will continue to live side by side with the larger Gambian public most of whom Kujabi has alienated over the years. Instead of seizing the latitude of opportunities that the American system offers to all and sundry and register in college, Kujabi was in a different planet, pulling strings meant for the high and mighty and now that he has been jettisoned, we will continue to monitor his activities in the Washington area.
